Connecticut school shooting: 18 children among at least 27 dead (CNN says maybe 30?)Without the NRA very little of this mayhem is possible.
On Friday, July 20, 2012, a mass shooting occurred inside of a Century movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, during a midnight screening of the film The Dark Knight Rises. A gunman, dressed in tactical clothing, set off tear gas grenades and shot into the audience with multiple firearms, killing 12 people and injuring 58 others. The sole suspect is James Eagan Holmes, who was arrested outside the cinema minutes later.
February 27, 2012 -- Chardon High School, Chardon, Ohio. Student Daniel Parmertor, 16, is killed and four others wounded when student T.J. Lane opens fire in the school, authorities say. On February 28, Demetrius Hewlin, 16, dies from his wounds, and Russell King Jr., 17, is declared brain-dead. On March1, T.J. Lane is charged with three counts of aggravated murder, two of attempted aggravated murder and one of felonious assault.

I think its more a matter of more total guns and bullets then USA population currently. So fucking available. The other day the killer stole a weapon, and I have friends with guns, so if I needed one real quick I can think of a dozen places to go real quick and er borrow one or 10.
At least I am 100% assured my next door neighbor will never have guns and neighbors place looks like a huge fortress which is mainly there to protect KOI fish and gardens from midnight parties. I end up calling cops on regular basis and have Infrared Cameras set up with motion alarms to spot those who climbed the walls of my neighbor. Neighbor is kinda classified as sorta a East Indian based Church that follows all branches of all religions (SRF) There are several houses on Church grounds, but often not occupied for months at a time.

I travel to Mexico on a regular basis and NEVER have run into US Border Patrol stopping me from going in - Only on return. Mexico does stop and the only thing they look for and look in trunk and under car seats is for GUNS This is a 100% check you out kind of thing and I grew up knowing that any kind of gun would land one in serious butt fucked Mexican jail where you have to buy your own food and you end up paying for them locking you up. If you cannot afford it they turn you into a slave laborer and that is just the way it is.
Bleeding hearts including Congressmen want him freed but so far they have noticed the US State dept is of no help. The guy took a gun into Mexico where the only people allowed to own guns are the ones who have paid off Gov and usually are drug dealers. Mexico has a zero policy allowance on Guns unless you have paid them off with huge sums of cash for protection.
bottom line - ordinary citizens and visitors will end up in total horrid pain if they bring a gun into Mexico.

The problem is not guns. The problem is our culture. There are plenty of countries, like Switzerland and Czech Republic, that have gun laws way more relaxed than the United States, but they have lower crime rates. There are also countries that have way tighter gun laws than the United States, but still have high levels of violent crime. Over the past 30 years or so, gun laws in the United States have remained mostly unchanged. It is no easier to get a gun now than it was 30 years ago, and yet these massacre shootings have increased, while regular gun crimes have decreased. So there is no correlation between gun laws and these massacres. That means we need to look at what problems in our culture are causing these problems. I'd bet that it has more to do with socio-economic changes in our country, wealth disparity, the disappearing of the middle class and a shitty economy, coupled with the fact that many people do not have access to proper mental health care, and the fact that psychiatry and mental health care are not taken seriously enough.
You could take away guns completely and this psychopath could have committed the same act using a bunch of explosives and other weapons.

Its been years since I brought this up online. Back as a teen I found it easy to get all the work after school I had time for. Fixing TV's was fun and educational but pay was shit and customers were just arwful to deal with. So I got a job with super flexible hours as a Supermarket clerk. Union wages including a union bonus for working part time. As if I could work full time re High School laffin.
Downside was the market was inside a mall which closed at 9PM so I got a 2nd job at a small liquor store. Stocking the chiller and doing deliveries to some weird parties every night.

First year at Liquor store I was held up at gun point 7 or 9 times depending on do you count a gun you could not see as maybe a finger inside a coat? Was jumped from behind with attempt to hit me over the head but the robber slipped and fell to the pavement. Had a gun on me for about 10 minutes while I was stocking the cooler and never noticed the gunman with the shaking gun who was yelling at me. Could not hear him over the inside fans. Only told my mom about the first robbery because she would have pulled my ass off that really great job. Owner was a high school teacher who tutored me during slow times so my history grades went to the max.
Guns on me including being shot at except the gun barrel was bent or something of that order and backfired and almost blew off the shoulder of the Russian who tried to kill me. I had no clue he was trying to hurt me. I ended up sewing one artery closed nor can I put a button on a shirt these days. Great US Marine first aid training using pigs to learn how to suture.
Even guns by military/Cops on me in Mexico. I do NOT LIKE Guns. Took all the US Marine rifle range training and passed. Only once went rabbit hunting with friends and when I had one lined up I missed on purpose at last moment. I DID HOWEVER GET THAT MAJOR RUSH Will never forget that feeling hunting gives one.
