Topic: F. lux - stop your PC from burning your retinas out.

Just tried it out today and I'm already in love with it, when it darkened at first I didn't like it, then I turned it off and realized how it was saving my eyes. Check it out if you're not a fan of having your retinas scorched out of your head every night.

I tried it a while ago and didn't much like it. I guess it takes some time to get used to.

I might as well download it again. The quality of my sleep sucks so it's worth a shot!

What annoys me about this is, at least with the version I installed, it fades into the warm color instantly. Why not have it change color gradually over the scale of the entire day?

Am I missing something? Seems like this would be the most obvious thing to do.

There is an option to have the color change over the course of 60 minutes, rather than changing almost instantly.

This is a thing? My PC has never hurt my eyes and I'm on it quite often.

This. I think it has more to do with the surrounding light than the computer's light itself. If you make a habit of sitting in a dark room with a brightly lit screen, like lots of people do, your eyes are going to hurt. Other than that my eyes are never affected by computer light - it probably fucks up my sleep patterns though!

I been using F.lux for over a year don't know if it does exactly what it claims to but it's certainly nicer at night not to stare into the sun (bright white screen). Everyone should use it or at least try it.

This. I have used it for some time, it suits me and I agree, Give it a try. It is easy to download and equally easy to un-install if you don't like it.

Ah. I always make sure the room is well-lit when unless I'm going to sleep, so I guess this has never affected me.

You're a fucking retard. Enjoy your blissful ignorance with your mac.

Besides that, this is a great program and while it takes some getting used to I wouldn't want to go without it anymore after a few weeks of using it.
