Back home, my cats live outside; no collar, nothing. They're cared for... no reason to leave.

If I had one, I would. I think that adventuring outside is just something that cats need to do. Sure there's risks out there but statistically it'd probably be fine. Yeah, my cat is outside all the time, but she's collared and chipped. She always come in at night. She knows where her bread is buttered.

I take my cat for walks. If i let her go out alone eventually she gets hurt or attacked. Last time she was bit by a possum or something and had a really bad infection. She almost died.

No, she came home and hid it from me until she was running a fever and i found her under the bed, extremely ill and very, very hot. It was a saturday night, too, so i rushed her to a 24hr emergency vet where they found her to have a 106 degree temp, and several animal bites on her hind quarters. They gave her a high dose of antibiotics and subcutaneois fluids to hydrate her and help being her temp down. She came home and barely ate, and i had to give her water by squirting it in her mouth. Then monday my regular vet looked at her and gave us additional antibiotics and anti-inflamatories. She got better pretty quick, by wednesday she was cool. But everyone called her very, very lucky.

Mine either jumped out of a tall tree or fell. I think she was chasing squirrels up on the second story roof. Anyway she fell and broke both her canines and injured her tail. Her tail is fine, they didn't have to amputate like they thought at first, but she did lose two teeth and her meow can be nasaly sometimes.

My cats are indoor/outdoor. They just come, and go as they please. I live in suburbia, and it's pretty safe for them. I don't think I'd have them be outside if I lived in a big city or something.
