Energy can be harvested aboveground using wind, solar, and hydro power plants. Travel, both short and long distance, will be conducted via maglev trains. Plants may be grown underground either using heat lamps or very thick glass. The only natural disasters to worry about would be earthquakes/tectonic plate movement.
