Topic: Looper; and what they did to Joseph Gordon-Levit.

Externally hosted image<-- look at that shit. It was a decent movie, but my god for some reason that was so annoying. Every time the camera showed Joseph's face I just wanted to slap the shit out of the director (or whoever came up with the idea to make Joseph look like that).

I can't be the only one who was incredibly annoyed by this. I mean Joseph could have worn a mask - no annoyance. But the subtle and slight changes they did with makeup to make Joseph resemble Bruce for whatever reason grrrrrr.

I was checking around and it seems I'm not the only one that was bothered by it.

This is from a review.

One big hang-up I had with "Looper" was the makeup on Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It's supposed to make him look like a younger Bruce Willis, but it doesn't. We're so familiar with what Willis looked like in his younger years, the make-up doesn't match that. Plus, we're so familiar with Gordon-Levitt's face that he just looks off in every scene. No matter how well he's acting a scene, you can't help but be ripped out of the moment.

It was perhaps the most subtly irritating thing I've seen in a film. Ever. I would not have expected something so seemingly minor to bother me as much as this did.

I don't know how Netflix works, as I've never had it.

Here's my Netflix, and they have it.

It hasn't been a good year for films, but I say that almost every year. Looper wasn't that bad compared to the competition.

I guess I've been living under a rock though, because I've only seen a few of these. Any in particular you'd recommend?

Honestly, I'm not the best person to consult on new movies because I don't recognize 99% of those lol. However, if you haven't seen God Bless America yet, I'd say maybe look into that one. Good concept, slightly above average delivery, overall an interesting and entertaining flick.

Saw it. They really couldn't have done a better job with the concept. It was a well done, entertaining, popcorn kinda flick.

I didn't recognize many of the movies on that list either, which is odd because I try to keep up somewhat. By keep up I mean - torrent anything that looks interesting. I haven't been watching many films for the past few months though. Ugh, looks like I got way behind.

I honestly figured you had already seen it. Hmm, other than that I have no real suggestions, most of the movies I watch are generally at least a few years old. I'm behind on the times too, lol. How about Scott Pilgrim vs. The World? It's kinda old but it just sprang to mind, pretty much everyone I've recommended it to has dug it.

It only bothered me at one point when it showed his nose at a weird angle

Dunno if that was just his normal nose or not though, I don't actually remember him in anything before
