I'd be surprised if the UK doesn't have something similar to food stamps.

I don't think so. But then I've never been a chav so I wouldn't know for sure.

Aren't chavs just a British wigga than a British person?
Anonymous C replied with this 14 years ago, 12 seconds later, 54 minutes after the original post[^][v]#369,234
Actually, I think chavs have evolved over time to survive only on Tesco Value Cider, completely eliminating the need for food.

Ok, seriously though in socialist countries they don't have food stamps. That's just an uneccesaary middle man. You just get in the breadline and show them your government issue ID and they give you a loaf and stamp your id for the day. At the end of the month when your card is full up you take it to the ministry of social services where they reissue you a new id and send you to reorientation "sessions."

Its called the dole aka unemployment benefit. You get about £100 every two weeks to pay for everything but rent. You only get the money if you can show your actively seeking work

I don't think they give them the rent money, it's paid straight to the landlord. Or the streets would be filled with jobless homeless niggers, like america.
ashe replied with this 14 years ago, 1 hour later, 13 hours after the original post[^][v]#369,362
Because you get rent benefits separately, not with JSA.
It's all being revamped into one benefit thing called Universal Credit though.

It's a separate benefit called "Housing benefit" which is paid directly to the landlord or the local council that is responsible for building new homes and maintaining them.

Does that housing benefit apply to single people or is it for family's.
I think our section 8 is family based.

Hope you're going to have a good work day.
Quick skim n looks like under age 35 its SOL . Looks simple enough and that not having over 16K Pounds in cash in bank.... One would imagine pulling a Mitt Romney with offshore account.
Quality simple Gov website.

What exactly did Mitt Romney do?

Because he could not be goaded into showing the tax returns that included his use of multiple offshore accounts, we will never know.
Back when I worked for Qualcomm Inc as employee, they set up multiple offshore accounts for me in my name and corporate name with separate accounts. Only very recently did I look to see if any were active and all were. Even a few bucks in each but most was company money and not mine. HowEver that allowed me to move money from Cardiff by the Sea to Australia France and Russia. Then I could place bets on Intrade and Betfair on the elections. Totally Legal. Moving my money in USA Banks to Intrade/Betfair is Illegal.
Many versions of what Romney was doing with those accounts is all over the net. I doubt we will ever find out now that Romney is dead in the water.
