honestly the social aspect of tumblr/your tumblog is really not important unless people have an external reason to look at your blog
otherwise you will have to immerse yourself into like some shitty like-minded niche of the site
basically just have one if you are in a position to, or want to compile useless images of your own
i guess it is a decent time-killer if you follow blogs that you like and are okay with 'reblogging' errything and dont have any original content to post, too
use it to your own devices and dont get caught up with the bad majority of its denizens basically
