In super rush to finish some work so I can head off to San Francisco at crack of dawn tomorrow - No lines for me unless fog rolls in and then will have to switch from tiny airporte to Lindburg with looooooong lines.
Hell yes fake snow is silly when they could have filmed the thing with the real stuff. If they are going to do this they may as well go all the way and CGI the whole movie process from now on.
Movie I want to see has real Tiger in close encounters with the star yet all CGI. How can one trust a movie from now on. Fake story lines with fake effects.
PS I once and only once did a technical gig for a young movie maker. Its a shame because well thats to long for tyme I have at momento.

Right. If they've used fake snow the entire thing is ruined and they might as well fake everything else. Perfectly reasonable.

It is. Everybody knows snowfall occurs only at convenient times and leaves behind the perfect amount of snow in just the right places and weather perfect for shooting a movie. When a shot calls for a light snowfall, it will magically start snowing just the right amount. This always occurs. Snowstorms are considerate like that. There is absolutely NO reason to use fake snow ever.

@368,564 (Killer Lettuce !!iNo3FkiZx) > What is your job, anyway?
You mean currently or back when I helped that young film maker send a real truck over a cliff directly onto the leased Panavision camera filming the falling big rig?

If they are connected to some high level church then all they need do is pray for God to make all the snow they need. Or higher a group of Americans to do a snow dance.

yeah, who wasn't summoned to Hollywood to work a technical gig for a budding young director in the 1970s.

Wheeeeeewwwwwww as Job for 24 hours is done done done as at Crack of Dawn I walk on to a small jet and jet off to San Francisco for ThanksGiving celebration
Once upon a time I was top dog working for a company that put up 52 LEO Satellites. I managed the launch of the first 8 and then went on to train others to manage such. Moved on to do only consulting work for CDMA based Terrestrial Cell stuff and was pulled back in as Consultant on out of bound problems that full time crew could not handle re the 52 Satellite Constellation.
Those 52 and really 48 with the others as spares....now mostly a dying breed because the design was for life time of 7.5 years. Many would have lasted 3X as long but alas Cosmic crap has messed with one tiny part so necessary.
So NOW its again a full brand new goal of 48 more brand new with life span design of 15 years and with only one more launch of 6 more that Constellation will be complete. So now a mix of old and new for me to stick my common n uncommon sense into and try to fix them remotely ...ONLY when the regular crew working on such has burned out or just cannot get a grasp of problem. Money is super tight so the crew is now smaller then it was back when I was in charge.
I also do non CDMA stuff for AT&T and T mobile and I truly despise AT&T but cannot find a way out of working for them. I started with Pac Bell when Cell was called PBMS and then Cingular and my education for such was in Norway and Sweden with Nokia and Ericsson. While going to school at Ericsson I found a group with task of proving CDMA was a crock of shit. I wrote a white paper for them with proof they were fucked up and later Ericsson bought the Hardware operation from Qualcomm so they could also be CDMA
Final pass of one Satellite is now complete over South Korea and that Birds telemetry says I am as healthy as can be expected under the circumstances
So NOW off for a quick snack and drink and dreams of Turkey turkey and a great group of friends flying in from all corners of Planet Earth4
Happy ThanksGiving KL

naw the deal was I was already working at Universal/MCA for what ya all know as DC DVD but we invented it as Disco Vison.
NOT my invention by any means!!! I managed it and bought a slew of companies to finance it cause in that biz I was told money had to be other peoples money.
I did a bunch of serious Music stuff along the way in process and I do mean serious but NOT Movie with that one exception.
Problem was - How does a Big Rig run off the mountain road for REAL and when crashing down the director who is now most famous wanted it to fall directly on a Leased Panavision camera destroying such.
I figured out a way to jettison the film canister and deal with Panavision major butt hurt over loss of Leased camera.
So it was just one scene which is the total extent of my Movie experience period

you mean one shot. a scene is comprised of multiple shots, what you did was work on one shot.
