I believe that true altruism is rare, and arguably nonexistent. Everything you do is for some kind of gain, even if that gain is just a good feeling or something similar.

The idea that we should not help those in need for example, the discontinuing of resources for the mentally challenged is something Rand has talked about, I don't agree with that.
