Don't drink Robitussin, NyQuil, or anything with Acetaminophen in it. I suggest the Vicks Formula 44 red cough syrup. The only active ingredient is DXM which is what makes you trip. The other ingredients in other syrups cause over doses and people to get sick and/or die. That's about it. The Vicks syrup taste like total asshole so I recommend getting the Kroger DXM-only cough syrup brand (assuming you live in the US). But if you cant, the red 44 is your only truly SAFE option. I personally have reached the "4th plateau" (800-1800mg) and shit's fucking crazy. DXM is an extremely effective and interesting drug to experiment with, as long as you take the proper precautions as you would with any other drug experimentation.

You can buy cough suppressant pills with DXM as the only active ingredient as well. I don't know how the cost/benefit works out compared to the syrup, but it might be something to look into if you are just starting out.

I suggest drinking a big bottle of Delsym. The polistirex lasts longer than the HBr, but it's less intense. As @365,534 (B) said, stay away from anything with acetaminophen in it, but on top of that, stay away from anything that has any other ingredients besides DXM. For a beginner trip, I'd say take around 500mg of polistirex.
