I honestly think she got a bargin. $200 is dirt cheep considering the lesson she as well as her family learned.

I have only been conned just once and it was in Morocco, on a vacation with my GF - Ah the very same GF that required 2 Swat teams and 3 Choppers and Homicide detectives to move her out of my life (Sorry I Def~gress)

$800 to $1000 loss and a well orchestrated set up. Thing is: Super lesson learned because that con has probably saved me 1000 times or more and not just in money - maybe even my life a few times.

damn just damn - I wrote it all out and mc software ate the 2nd paragraph the how to up and then reversed the order

One learns in certain 3rd world places to hire a guide to push off the beggars and help with language. We chose a teen and for the 10 days have no regrets with selection. Invited to his home for dinner with family. Those who travel and end up staying in the best hotel the area offers, is often looked at as a Mark So the con people spotted US with the teen and approached him with an offer and threat.

So on the very last day of trip, he says we have to go with him to one last place but he would not say why. Huge just Huge warehouse type Persian rug joint - we say no need rug he says you are here not to buy rug but to meet owner and drink Mint tea - they make a big deal of drinking Mint tea. Then parade of rugs until my GF says we need THIS ONE.

I had multiple credit cards to pay the $800-1000 including my Corporate AMEX Platinum but instead I chose to use my personal Visa. We get home - no rug - Home was 2 weeks or so later. Call store no ring.
Call bank to cancel rug and bank gives me number of Bank in Morocco. They tell me it was a con. Store moves about every 4 days or so and I mean this joint was HUGE. Bank account there however does not change lol -

If I had used my AMEX they would have covered he loss. Visa will in USA but outside USA 2Get about it. Wonderful trip and considering how long I B around its what it is - the being conned and knowing you got stung for buying something you did not want or need buuuuuuuut the charm of that con man. Lesson learned.

SHe should be thankful it was just a mirror. An iPAd at just 200USD on the street corner could've been stolen goods.
