Christmass project:
-connect it to the net
-connect a webcam to it
-connect a shitloat of LEDs on the GPIO ports
-make web app to controll each LED
-place the LEDs on a christmass tree
So you'd have a christmass tree that would blink how internet users want...

It's pretty simple. There's open source libraries for most languages by now or iirc you can flip each switch by echo 1 > /proc/whatever/the/fuck/came/here/with/some/kernel/shit/gpio/1
