Complex issue. Walt Disney was a Hitler & Mussolini fan, which, while strangely socially acceptable in 1930s USA, sucked. On the other hand, he created brilliant cartoons and characters. During the first 50-60 years, the Disney Company housed and trained some of the best and most creative minds in animation and comics, and even created some good non-animated movies. The demise of this Golden Age pretty much coincided with the Disney-channel. Creating vast amounts of entertainment to an undifferentiated and not particularly discerning audience (no offense to kids, but they like anything containing enough sugar), completely destroyed all creativity in the company. Currently, I suspect that the franchising executives are writing all the new shows, designing them to fit their franchising ideas.
All in all, Walt the Fascist would be incredibly pleased by how things turned out, but Walt the Artist would be destroyed by the shame of it.
