Not bad. Pretty fun if i do say so. Free to play up to level 15, you basically get to complete the starting storyline for each of 8 different classes. I figure beyond that it's pretty repetitive standard mmorpg type stuff. That class based intro storyline bit is pretty fun though. Maybe takes 5 hours to hit level 10-12, so all in all you get 50, maybe 60 hours of gameplay free.
And it's all pretty fun star wars stuff, which is neat. I liked the bounty hunter, the jedi consular, and the sith warrior. The smugglet seems kind of cool, but it's got some kind of wierd cover mechanic and a automatic actionbar thing that's kind of wonky. We'll see, i've only gotten it to level 4 and then i started a jedi, which was more fun.
If i actually pay for it there's a bunch more to do, like take on a crew and get a ship and do space stuff, but idk. Might not be worth it.

I never played it > "combat is turn based"
oh. I do prefer real time combat games.
But yeah, i can see what you're saying. When i first started it was so much like WoW i almost just deleted it.
But its grew on me, but maybe not enough to actually pay for it. I hate farming, if there's even a hint of "farming nodes" or "dailys" then i'm through. That's what i like about the intro class-starting story lines, it's all pretty straight forward with no bullshit to side line you and waste time.

The turn based mechanic isn't too obtuse for what it is. It doesn't automatically pause every other turn or anything like that.

i just imagine imagine running around and then the screen turning blurry for a second before being transported to a generic room to fight a womprat.

No, it's nothing like that. Not Japanese at all.
Note that all pauses you see in that video are optional/can be disabled in the options.

that's not too bad. can you move while in combat? i like to kite and LOS everything.
i hate casters unless they're all instants, which they never are.

Yeah, you can move around while in combat. Sorry, didn't understand the terms you used after that.
Force powers are instant, though. As in they're used the turn they're casted.

ah, to kite is to just run backwards and shoot so they follow along
and los is line-of-sight, so the mob needs it too, and if it doesn't have los it'll run around whatever corner or thing you're behind and you can do all sorts of stuff with that.

@previous (squeegee !firstkPE1Q) > kiting
Sort of. You're not really supposed to, but you can use ranged weapons on melee enemies without them being able to fight back if you stay just out of range. You can't run backwards, though, so you'd have to turn around to run away each time.
> LOS
Yep. You can run around corners and behind cover to stall enemies. But again it's not something that the game tells you to do.
