No way. The US is in everybody's business as it is. The last thing we need is a governing body for the world. Let nations be sovereign and stay out of each other's business.

The US government has a lot of say in UN matters, but a parliament would mean people directly vote in representatives to represent them, and that the US government wouldn't be able to push their agenda through it.

And not all issues are local. Climate change, for example- If one country is reckless all suffer.

Human rights issue are another. A soveriegn state should not be allowed to massacre it's people, and the global community should get involved.

A global parliament would better represent the global view by giving each person an equal representation instead of giving each nation one equal vote.
