One persons opinion only - Laptops use Intel or AMD Cpu's which are power hungry. MOST cell phone and tablets use ARM chips designed to run in a battery enviro. I suspect Intel does not want to pay the Brits to license ARM technology.
AMD decided to do a deal with ARM & will have chips out by years end 2013 or so they say.

It started with like 2-3 hours, but now my battery is so fucked from constant use it's only got like 15-20 minutes, so it has to stay constantly plugged in.

Suggestion: When you replace that battery - Let it discharge as far down as you can.
For example - If when new you get 3 hours - then discharge it down as close to bottom as you can.
So if you only use the lap top for say one hour and decide to charge it - NOT a good idea for long term good battery. If you need to know why just ask.
Of course you can use lap top for one hour and charge and do that again. BUT if you do that too often you end up with a fucked up battery.

I have a Sony Vaio which only does about 1-2 hours, very shitty. I use a Samsung netbook while traveling and it gets 10-12 hours every time.
