I know about drilling a ton of holes in the exhaust, or even the air filter box. Neither of which sounds particularly appealing. I have no idea what kind of sensors are in the exhaust/cat that would potentially fuck up, or even emissions tests with a hole filled exhaust. I don't want to buy and have a new exhaust fitted, expensive as fuck. Cone air filters make nice sound but actually reduce performance (done it before). Are there even any other options if so what? Want to make it obnoxiously loud.

Look on lie for location of sensors in exhaust. Just drill one hole, past the last sensor. Its easy to plug one hole if you are not pleased with the results.

Worked for me. Back when I lived in Marina del Rey on waters edge I had two cars. The Alfa Romeo Spyder was more pron to rust issues. Small rusted out hole gave me all I could ask for.
Later when more rust forced me to do a full replacement, I just drilled a small hole - made it bit larger and over did it and just bought some of that metal glue from pep boys and it held.
Probably would NOT hold on a old rusted out unit.

Have you tried yelling "vrooooom" as you accelerate and "screeeeeech" as you stop? If you get really good at it you can go "vrooomrrrrVROOOM" to make it sound cooler when you shift.

Punch out the catalytic converter, remove the muffler and install a glass pack or a resonator, whichever floats your boat. Or if you just want to be an obnoxious prick, just remove the exhaust altogether and run straight pipes from the headers. Drilling holes wont do anything, except make you look like a dumbass.
