Last week I paid for 14 months of membership, not cheap. Then Monday I get a bunch of emails saying some cunt has added a different email address to my account, and a phone number. Now I'm fully fucking locked out of the account. I had an elaborate password and security questions, yet it still got stolen with no difficulty. What the actual fuck?

It's prbably because Microsoft's security is shite. All it really takes is a little social engineering over the phone to some techs and you can seize control of any account. This article explains it quite well.

Well luckily I phoned them yesterday and they opened a fraud investigation, takes the piss I have to wait another 24 hours for a password reset. They should send me a fucking refund for the time I'm missing. Also there's apparently nothing I can do to prevent this from happening again.
