Topic: Should I drop courses, or take mediocre grade?

So, I am about halfway through my first semester of college, and I am horribly failing 2 of my classes, I am unsure of whether I should drop the courses, and have it be a waste of time, or work really hard, and get maybe a C in both of them.
I am allowed 6 drops in my undergraduate career, so I would be using a third of them in my first semester. Also my parents would be disappointed. But they might be more disappointed if I failed a course, actually that seems more disappointing.

Serious long term consequences so how about this - If you have Balls???? Can hold Erections for over 3 minutes? - Then take a deep breath and Start OVER - Drop classes but only and I mean this from bottom of 10 Miles of Heart - Do so ONLY IF you have the Balls to start over and get it RIGHT the next set of classes.
If NOT then stick with it with C grades cause that's probably all you can expect in future. One other word of advice b4 I dig in the sand for 10 Miles of Running today.
For future classes when You can - Research who is the best Teacher Prof RA Instructor for the course you take next. Don't end up taking just any card out of the deck. Do your homework.
One Great Professor just one can change the rest of your life . I been there and done that and in one subject because of my Dyslexia, the only way I could get past a C grade was to go overboard with research on ways to cheat the system Without actually cheating. Got a B which was my low grade ever in Uni - and later that Cheat I used, ended up work wise as a career saver.

Drop one course, then get the other up to a C. Talk to the professor of that class about what you can do to study better blah blah, they may give you extra fudge points at the end.

Agree. Communication with Prof has a lot of upsides to it.
One Professor of mine later became the CEO (Founder) of a Mega Billion $$$ Company. Took me to long to decide to go to work for him.
Profs also need help re Publish or Perish and one can even pick up a few bucks helping Profs out, which can also help with help on a grade.

Drop 'em. You're paying for documentation. Plain and simple. All that BS about "learning" being priceless is marketing garbage. Anyone can learn with or without "educators" monitoring and assessing your commitment to their ideologies, but that won't make you employable.

Of course Gates and Jobs are good examples of making it without a BS. Nor could either of them actually do the real engineering work. Not that it was necessary for them to be able to do that work.
Clearly there are no short cuts if one wants to end up as a Surgeon. I learned a lot on my own but a class room in Calculus and Physics and hell I had a hobby re Chemistry and Biology but home larning failed by comparison to what I got out of classroom and critique from Profs.
I did a minor in Law for a while - Could have done as well with books on my own, but would never have paid the attention I did in class. So until we find out what OP is going for in school will have to reserve judgment. If he wants to end up working on Heart Transplants? You and I need him to do more better in classroom eh.

Me thinks that was for someone else. I did the commit to a woman - actually several lol. I turned my hobby into one hell of a career. Made sure I was never type cast because that is usually wot happens to Engineers. Most end up doing what they started to do on first job the rest of their life.
