Have you seen The Killing of America (1982)? It's an older film about serial killers and the race riots. I thought it might be something you would enjoy since it has a lot of vintage footage.

I didn't watch it in its entirety but I found a lot of clips mixed together to be of interest (such as footage from Dean Corll, Edmund Kemper, Sam Brown, Elmer Wayne Henley, etc.) so I wanted to pass it along.

I was anticipating Living In A Mad Man's World about the Houston Mass Murders being released around this time but I found out it was pushed back so after some searching I stumbled upon this. I think I also saw a truecrime documentary about Dennis Nilsen you might have liked.

Extreme human behavior is always in varying supply. Some people have weird responses to the macabre, be it fascination, disgust, or both. Not everyone truly understands it.

I think one of the most interesting reasons I heard in this documentary was one killer's claim for only targeting the college-educated was so that he could "stab at the most critical part of society: the potential leaders of the future". I think interviews are particularly interesting since they are sort of rare but also offer a lot of insight.

The Marc Dutrox thing was insane! The police actually visited his flat, heard children screaming, and just assumed (so they claim) that they thought it was coming from the courtyard. Also they confiscated tapes from his home (before the girls were found) that showed the construction of his hidden room. The police claimed that they didnt view the tapes because they didnt have a vcr. Which sounds like another fucking lie.

Watching this now. The whole Johnny Gosch thing really makes me nervous and I'll sometimes stay up late and research it. I feel really bad for his mother.

It's extremely strange. I mean extremely strange. I had the same kind of reaction towards the Brian Wells case for several months until it escaped my memory then came back several years later. When the mystery is de-bunked it doesn't seem so intriguing after all. In Brian Wells case, sort of sad considering a comedy film was based on the event. At this point I don't really know what to think anymore.
