Its both. Gay men are no more likely to be able to perform simple chores. He was implying that knowing these things makes someone gay, and that being gay is objectionable. Men use gay as an insult against other men, because it feminizes them and also implies that any deviations from typical gender roles is objectionable. Which hurts all men. Thanks.

Its not just about toys. Typically, man arent encouraged to be artistic, express emotions, perform simple household chores, dress in gender atypical fashions, be attracted to the same sex, etc. In fact, they're often shamed for these things, which is hurtful.
