I lived on the lake in a big ass army tent for a summer when I was teenager. It was fucking great. Probably not the same type of situation you're talking about though. I do know of a few RV park places where people live full time and work, they seem to do okay. They're probably saving a ton of cash, assuming they're not crackheads or losers.

I just find the camper to be very appealing. Everything is within reach, there is the right amount of space for everything you need, without everything being spread out for no reason at all other than to increase the real estate value.
