I think if he only sterilized people then we as a world wouldn't be aware of how often people commit genocide. Throughout history, tribes would go around killing the other tribes. In the Americas with their tribes. Around Greenland with the beothuk (a type of Eskimo the other tribes killed). The Zulus in Africa did genocide on the others.
And the praised story of the Greeks defeating Troy ended with them committing genocide on the trojans.
And we can't forget how in Europe, most of the non-Christians were killed to make way for a Christian Europe.
