If you need someone to talk to about sobriety, I've been doing pretty good and having no problems staying sober.

I don't have a problem staying sober. I just have a problem liking life when I'm sober. Not because there's anything wrong with me. Just that I don't make enough money and don't have a hot enough boyfriend.

Interesting, but very normal. I don't know how I've been so optimistic the past few months or so, because usually I'm hating life when I'm sober.

Sobriety is a strange reward that sucks at the same time. Think of it this way, OP. Life is a piece of shit whether you're sober or drunk. The difference is that you can deal with that shit when you're sober and move on. It's easy to get discouraged and go back to old habits, and that's fine if you never want to move forward. I'm guessing you're sober because drinking was starting to take a toll in some way or another? I'm just under a year sober and still have bad days where I just want to get shitfaced and say fuck the world. Probably will have days like that forever. Weed helps me, but it's not a substitute for facing whatever it is that made me drink uncontrollably for years.
Hang in there, bud. If nothing else never having to worry about a hangover is worth it. If you ever want to talk about it feel free to contact Meowth.
