Topic: I want to get a pedophile into trouble. I need your help for ideas.

Anonymous A started this discussion 14 years ago #22,320

OK. Long story short...

I don't understand why he ever talked to me. He was 24, and had a romantic relationship with me, a 14-year-old girl. He was a Pakistani. He got me to like him, and then asked me, a child, for money. And when I didn't give it to him he threatened to tell me parents or get me into trouble with the law. This relationship lasted a year. He made me send everything back. Every card, love letter, photo. To add insult to injury he told me years later that it was a noble act to protect me, to cut all ties for my own good because he couldn't come to me.

I thought I really loved him, and I wasn't ashamed even though everybody in my class thought I was in love with a PEDOPHILE. I talked openly about him and put his pictures and letters up in my locker. It screwed me up for years too, because when we stopped talking I was so upset that I didn't see boys my own age romantically. Until I was 17 I only dated men.

I want to get revenge. But he lives in another country. Is there any way I can get this guy busted? I still have his email address.

Do you have his real name or any other identifying information? The best I can think of is Googling his email address and seeing what it's connected to.

Stopped reading at "he was a paki."
That's your own fault for messing with a paki. What'd you expect?

I was 14, and very PC, and didn't like generalizing about people. I was also naive--my friends warned me.

Yes. Five results. His twitter, his phone number, and he asked some guy for a free guitar/money.

And he was actually born in '75; he was 31 by the time we stopped talking.

I don't think you can get him in legal trouble unless you have solid legal evidence. You can, however, slander him and make his life more difficult if can find out his real life contacts, friends, employer, etc and tell them he's a pedo.

What did you do? I don't, but I think I could get it. If he goes after people on the Internet for money and stuff, then maybe I could get into talking to him and get it.

at 14 you shouldn't even have known what a paki is, you poor, poor neglected girl. where were your parents?

They just didn't know about it for a long time. I knew they would stop me talking to him. And they tried to when they found out. It's embarrassing in hindsight--I was like "I love him! I don't care about the age difference!"

Yeah, my mother looked up the code. Then I just proceeded with the "but I love him" crap. It took me years to get angry about how stupid I was. For a while it didn't hit me how screwed up the whole thing was. I thought I should have been smarter, and I should have. But I never really blamed him at all. Seeing 14-year-old girls now, I really do think of him as being manipulative and as taking advantage. 14 year old girls can be really dumb. I was. And he used that on purpose to get to me. But at the time, when it ended, I thought it was just me to blame for making bad decisions.

(What I mean is, the psychological/intelligence difference between a young teen and an adult man didn't occur to me)

Does he currently live in Pakistan? If so, there's really nothing you can do; even slander won't work. In Muslim cultures, especially Sunni, it's generally socially accepted that grown men are with girls as young as 12, 9, 8, or 6, depending on their interpretation of the Ahadith on Aisha. She was married to the alleged prophet Mohammed when she was 6 and he in his 50ies, which was then consummated either when she was 8, 9, or 12. In Pakistan (as well as most other Muslim countries, though not directly related to Islamic teachings), the blame for infidelity is usually put on the woman, especially if she's a non-Muslim. Under some interpretations of the Qur'an, extramarital sex with a non-Muslim woman isn't considered fornication, when a state of Jihad is assumed. In fact, it may raise the status of the man.

If he's in a western country, slander may affect his relationships with Westerners, as well as moderate and/or secular Muslims. You can also mess up his life by filing charges against him, or by suing him, though it's unlikely to go to trial, much less succeed.

If you want to get sophisticated, you may attempt to infect his computer with a virus and use it to distribute kiddie-porn from his computer, and then have it self-destruct. That's tricky enough for an advanced cracker, though, since infecting a specific individual's computer requires either a bit of luck or physical access to his computer. Simple identity theft may work, if you have enough information about him. Even with only his email address, you can hack it, and use it to set up and fiercely abuse accounts in his name on various Internet sites. Tailored to his current circumstances and location, you can then commit several suitable no-nos on his behalf. He may even end up under investigation, though doubtfully anything more. You'll need an anonymous proxy or VPN service to conceal your own identity, though.

Not that I would ever encourage anyone to break the law in such ways, obviously. That would just be wrong of me...

I hate doing it, and yet I do it, so here's some psychobabble, derived from credible sources, so far as credible sources exist within psychiatry/psychology:
For your own peace of mind, the best course of action may be to accept the past as it is. Forgive your young self for what you now perceive as weakness and stupidity; she didn't know any better, and, at 14, shouldn't be expected to. She was taken advantage of. However, what is in the past should be learned from, and otherwise be accepted as one of many experiences, and free of judgement. Remember, he isn't your responsibility, and no longer has any power over you. He plays no role in your life, unless you let him.
