Topic: Android users don't seem to like tablets.

Anonymous A started this discussion 14 years ago #22,209

How fucking sad is it the best Android tablet is made by Amazon and not Google? LOL.

iPhone 5 can't save iOS, but I'm starting to think iPads will hold on longer than people realize.

Android people are PC people at heart. They don't like tablets and don't really have a need for one if their phone's a decent model. I also feel this may be why they are not good spenders, as many users still cling to desktops as their main computing device.

Thoughts?

Tablets are cool as long as you can convert it back to a laptop.

You can't really group that many people into a single opinion because it's not going to be accurate, but personally:

> Android people are PC people at heart. They don't like tablets and don't really have a need for one if their phone's a decent model.

I agree with this.

I agree and disagree. I like Tablets, but a lot of the ones made are.. well.

Let's just say the Nexus 7 isn't impressing me.

And I hope that the Kindle Fire HD isn't as bad as it looks.

The problem with phone as model is less then 5 full inches. Women will not put up with anything as small as 5.0 So who is going to watch video's on 4+ fraction of inch videos?

the nexus 7 is $200 though it isn't a fair comparison

True, but the Transformer isn't either... I haven't seen anything wow worthy. :(

I have a Galaxy S II which has a 11cm screen, and I don't really have any issues with watching videos on it. But then again I don't often do it because I have a PC for watching video on.

First question
1: How you feeling today?

Second question
2: Does size matter?

1. I am feeling a little off, but thank you for asking. :)

2. Not really, it's the overall performance. I have known a lot of people to send tablets back in for refurbished crap.

why not? if you just look at the tech specs the thing is amazing and i agree that android is not amazing for tablets atm

Honeycomb was good, but they need to go back to
> android phone only OS
and
> android tablet only OS

Then we might make some progress.

The problem with tablets (currently) is that they're devices for consuming information, not creating it.
Tablets are way too cumbersome to do real actual work on, hopefully Windows 8 will change this.

Also why would anyone with an Android phone want to fork out for an Android tablet when they can do the exact same thing on their mobile?

EDIT: Also people who buy an iPhone AND an iPad. L-O-L

What I really want is a fanless Android netbook with built in Win XP emulation.
