I don't see much point in it. The only "innovation" is room for another row of app icons. Whoopty fucking do. An iPhone with a physical qwerty keyboard would be newsworthy, but this is a minor update at best.
What I want is the iPhone Shuffle. It will have no screen and will call a random person from your address book when you hit the call button (which is also the only button it has).

It's how Apple works. The stuff is pretty and overpriced. So you're buying an image more than a product. So when it gets more expensive, it gets more exclusive (read: poorfags cant have one) and thus more desirable.

That's cause it's not a major upgrade over the previous one, and almost everyone who wants an iPhone has one by this point. The iPhone 4S already has Siri and the retina display and a really fast processor so why upgrade? The only new thing is 4G LTE.

We economists call that the Veblen effect. Seeing as it's an observable and quantifiable economic phenomenon, it's a legit way to run a business.
Trouble is you can never have more than 20% of the market or so or the whole "exclusivity" angle breaks down. But hey, were living in a world where the top 20% has 90% of the money, so Apple is smart to target them.
I hate Apple as much as the next serious computer user, but they know how to --rape people-- make money.
