I got a 78 card deck and a nice wooden box to keep them in off Amazon. I have been doing Tarot readings with a friend and the results are uncanny. She can tell me who I'm thinking about based only on the results of the cards. It's incredible. So, I ordered a deck. Now I play the waiting game, and when they finally come in the mail, I might even do some readings for people here. I also got a book on Kindle to learn how to do the readings.
I don't reall believe in tarots, but it sounds interesting.
You should do readings for people on here. The results will of course be hilarious.

how exactly does one do a tarot reading? i would google it, but anytime you look up any kind of "whoooooooooooooo-" shit you get a bunch of WoW/Dragonball Z garbage about how to shoot off a kamehameha by snorting a mandragora stolen from a night-elf mohawk.

There are books on it, and several different spreads you can do with the cards depending on the situation and the sort of question you want answered. There are different techniques on shuffling and everything, but it really boils down to trusting your instincts, practicing, and just having what it takes to interpret the cards and tie them all together.
And speaking of tying them altogether, that's the key to Tarot reading. Anyone can put the cards on the table and say what each cards means, but the real meaning comes from how the cards tell a story. They all sort of feed of each other, become intertwined and make each others' meanings more complex. So, unlike horoscopes where it can be very broad, and has to be since each horoscope is supposed to apply to a 1/12th of the population, Tarot readings can get specific to the point where it's eerie. The possible combinations of cards are virtually endless, so no two tarot readings are ever exactly the same.
