Must haves, if it doesn't have it, don't mention it:

- 1440x900 or higher resolution.
- Screen size 15" max.
- IPS or FHD screen or something else really good.
- A decent video card.
- Backlit keyboard.
- Option for on-site NBD warranty.
- An i5 or i7 CPU.
- Motherboard must support 8GB or more RAM.
- Must have atleast one e-sata port.

What should I get? My budget is around ~600 pounds almost $1000.

Apple offers no on-site warranty at all. I'm used to business class Dell and HP laptops, which have a very good on-site support. I've had my hardware upgraded a few times because they didn't had the right parts on them. Good shit.

But this one I will have to pay for myself.

All of the consumer end laptop with pick-up/return warranty are fucking shit. You end up in some super busy repair factory where 15yo kids scratch your laptop and crack hinges. And spend months debating with support on what to do. I always buy business range laptops with on-site warranty, call me Kimmo I don't mind, I am fussy when it comes to this.

Onsite warranty NDB is done by: HP, Lenovo, Dell and Sony. I know those do it for sure.

And for those four brands, a ThinkPad from Lenovo would probably be your best bet, or a Sony VAIO, as far as consumer laptops go.

Yeah, I love the Thinkpads like the one I posted earlier, within budget, but lowres screen and no backlit keys :(

The Vaio's have terrible keyboard flex. Which will annoy me to bits when I have to actual work on it.
