Also some light reading, if you're unclear about what the parties stand for:

Democratic Party 2012 party platform (PDF)
Republican Party 2012 party platform (PDF)

loves freedom; doesn't even consider hispanics a minority anymore; wants to educate you, keep you healthy, and guarantee businesses can't take advantage of you
> Republican Party 2012 party platform (PDF)
rich old white men; thumping the constitution like it's the bible; thumping the bible like it's the end of the discussion; telling you what to do

The national debt hit 16tril right around the time the DNC started. Fitting, eh?

Clinton left office with a surplus. Bush burned through it and left Obama in the red. Romney could reduce it by taking money from the poor and middle class. Rich will only get richer.

> Clinton left office with a surplus.
Thanks to the dot-com bubble.
> Bush burned through it and left Obama in the red.
If the president truly had that much power, the Obama could've slowed or even stopped the rising debt instead of playing the blame game.
> Romney could reduce it by taking money from the poor and middle class.
As opposed to giving taxpayer money to businesses that are guaranteed to fail?

How many people do you think will read? No one will. No one will hold either candidate accountable to them.

Anyway, after a brief skim, the Dem platform annoyed me more because it was so euphemistic and shy. The GOP was big and bold, even if stupid (a section on American Exceptionalism? what is this, 1812?).

Julian Castro fucking stole the show. I see him as a potential presidential candidate in 2016

You're either implying that the platform matters, or that Republicans aren't stupid. Kill yourself.

Honestly, I'm not even sure what it means. From what I can tell, mountainman just uses it in arguments when he doesn't have a proper comeback.
