Here's the story: A while ago I was talking to my mother about her life insurance, and inheritance, and all that. It truly was just out of curiosity at that point. She told me that if She were to die, my father would get the life insurance money, and that my sister, and I would split an inheritance. And of course if my father were to die, my sister and I would split an inheritance, and my mother would get the life insurance. Now, if both of them died, my sister and I would split the life insurance money, and the inheritance, my sister getting my mother's belongings, and I getting my father's belongings. Though I would actually get the estate. If my sister died as well, I'd get everything. If my family died, I would have a house, cars, and a six figure sum of money.
Now like anybody else would, I dreamed of getting all that money, and I even thought about just killing everyone. But I knew I couldn't, I'd get caught, and in fact it would be the most obvious thing in the world. I, the only one left alive when my whole family is killed? I'd be the prime suspect. I'm a smart guy, but I know my limitations, I'm wasn't going to get away with anything like that.
And so I gave it up for awhile, and maybe dreamed a little bit about the idea from time to time. I started getting into dealing drugs, first just my own medications to make some extra cash, but then I found out that I enjoyed it, it was kind of thrilling, and I liked being outside of the law. After about 7 months, I was a fairly successful heroin dealer. From meeting with the people that bought my product, I saw that they would do anything for a fix. Not only that, but a lot of them didn't have any friends, or family. They were nobodies who could be coerced into doing just about anything, except maybe not doing heroin.
I started talking with a guy who's name we'll say is Mark. I told Mark an idea that I had to get the life insurance, and inheritance money from my parents, and sister. I told him that I'd split the profits with him, that he'd make over half a million dollars. I told him that it could change his whole life, that he wouldn't have to live on the streets, that if he wanted to, he could even get help with his addiction. Not only that, but that if anyone was going to get caught, it was me. He had no connection to my family, what motivation would he even have?
And so the plan was set in motion, he was going to break into my house, and kill my family. I told him my address, and where my parents sleep, and where my sister sleeps. At about 3 am the next night I heard a window break, and I knew it was beginning. I heard a gunshot, and a scream, followed by another gunshot. I came downstairs, to find my parents dead, in a pool of their own blood. And my sister rushed downstairs, and clinged to me. The killer, my dear accomplice, pointed a gun at my sister, but couldn't do it, but I knew he wouldn't be able to. And I went through with the real plan, and I shot him in the head with my own gun. I took his gun then, while my sister was still clinging to me, hysterical, and I shot her in the back of the head. My family was dead, and the killer was dead in my living room.
It was pretty much immediately assumed that our heroin addict was the killer, and that I was a very brave victim. I was questioned by the police, but even that was in a tone of "Sorry, this is just protocol." The case didn't just go cold either, it was cleared. I had to attend a funeral, and make a couple weepy remarks, but then it was pretty much over. All the money, and property was signed over to me, and I gave a tearful "All of this will never bring them back.", and then I moved away. I sold the house, and I left, telling people that I couldn't bear being in a place that held so many memories with my loved ones. People seemed to understand. The case was cleared, I got everything I wanted, and now I'm living the dream.

Farmer Joe knows that he can start harvesting the apples in his orchard on September 15th each year. He knows from experience that each tree will, on average, yield 142 pounds of apples. Each tree's yeild will increase by five pounds for each additional week the picking is delayed, but the price per pound will drop by three cents for each week after the start of harvest. Picking takes about two days with an orchard of 200 trees, and Joe has one truck capable of hauling five tons. On what day should Joe begin his picking and why?

It was pretty tricky of you to catch that.
Now answer this one, if you can:
A train leaves a city headed west at 120 km/h at 7:30am. Thirty minutes later, a car leaves the same train station traveling at 80 km/h north. At 9:00am a different train leaves a station 250km northwest of the first train station, and this train is traveling east-by-southeast at a rate of 45 km/h. All of the vehicles travel at a constant rate of speed except for the car, which makes a ten minute stop at 8:30am. At exactly 10:00am a passenger on the first train orders a soft-drink in the dining car. The dining car is only stocked with two types of soft-drinks, Coke and Pepsi. Which one does the passenger take back to his compartment with him?

Considering the fact that Coke is massively more popular than Pepsi, the odds are he's going to pick Coke. The odds are raised when you look at demographics, Pepsi is consumed mostly by young, non-whites, whereas trains are popular with the older, whiter crowd. Almost invariably, the passenger is going to pick Coke. However, I don't think this situation would ever even occur. Companies sign contracts with either Coke, or Pepsi, and would obviously lose income from selling 2 very similar products. So this question is flawed.
