I think I have a drinking problem and I'm not sure if it is a problem or I just lack willpower or w/e I just don't know. We assume drunks are losers on the street begging for change but I'm a fairly normal guy with maybe a slightly addictive personality and at least one OD under my belt but for some reason I can't stop drinking. Honestly, I can drink all day and night if I can and even at work since I have a type of work which allows it. If I have 12 bottles of beer in the house I'll drink them in one night and still go out for more if I desire. But at the same time I can hold down my job and do very well.

I used to drink a lot, shots for breakfast, drink all day and half the night (all damn night on the weekends). I was drunk for months at a time, with no breaks lol. Best advice I can give is to just stop. Don't drink anything one day and take it from there. I had a tough time not just hitting the liquor store for a month or so, but after that it's smooth sailing.

Quitting drinking was the most boring thing I've ever done. Sobriety is crushingly, achingly, boring. But it's sobriety or liver failure at 50, I'll take sobriety. I'm not the type that can 'just cut back'.

Its the "boring" that keeps me from stopping. Its funny how boring sober is or how every moment in the day needs requires a drink

Have you started waking up with the shakes yet? I'm not just fucking around. I've been there. Serious DTs suck - Honestly, some of the scariest experiences of my life. I spent many a weekend at college on acid or mushrooms, and I never had much of a problem. I was a high functioning alcoholic through a lot of grad. school (I'm not MAtt, sorry guys) and when things collapsed for me it was scary as hell. I was a run-of-the-mill crazy alcoholic for a bit as well. It's... not pleasant. Anyway, Ks has had some experience with heavy drinking because he has said as much in many previous threads, so his advice his probably worth taking seriously.
If you want to talk about it, I'm sure there are people here who have been through the cycle and who will respond. That may not mean much (if you are not going through it) now, but it may in the future. I'm certainly not going to urge you to join some creepy program, (I could write a fucking essay about how much AA/NA fucking sucks) but when you want to talk about it, I'm sure a few people will chime in with honest experiences and perhaps some helpful advice.
