Topic: I am very close to telling my high school to go fuck itself.

The administration decided that I am not to dual-enroll in college, all because I have a few miscellaneous, non-core elective credits to fulfill. Fucking hell. I can't stand their fucking bullshit. I hope they choke.

You do not qualify for dual enroll because you are not grown up enough for it. Learn to read the rules of the road before you venture out.

You'll like BB stacking better than college anyway. It's a lot more fun in BB stacking 2, though. Everything is done underwater for an extra element of difficulty. Don't worry, it transfers.
Everything transfers these days.

And think of it this way, when you do get to college you'll already have a strong background in BB stacking. I bet you're building 10x10 base pyramids by second semester!

Is this rule in writing? Is there an appeals process?

Yep. There may be an appeals process, but I'm not exactly certain. I probably could get exempted since I have every other part fulfilled except for my math and English (which is basically the only reason why I'm staying, aside from physics).

The appeals process is having your parents scream at them until they do what you want.
Seriously.

@344,884 (HaikerensGuide !0VegJ9Jl.Q)
Me thinks what she is trying to say-tell you is: DID you bother to look up the written regs? I ask this because I attended college in my last year of high school. After taking SAT's I just applied and was accepted and showed up for classes. Got what I wanted and only attended 1/2 day in high school. About 6 weeks later I got a note from my high school saying I could NOT do it that way. Being clueless honestly I said show me it in writing. No such regulation said I could not do it that way.

What? Those courses, along with Physics, were going to be the only classes I go to in high school.
Anonymous D replied with this 14 years ago, 6 minutes later, 1 hour after the original post[^][v]#344,893
@previous (HaikerensGuide !0VegJ9Jl.Q) IF the local college does not require high school physics as pre req then take the course in college. Will be more difficult but you will get much more out of it. Make sure you research college profs before you sign up for any classes. Classes all cost the same but not all teachers as you damn well know, are equally qualified.

@344,890 (HaikerensGuide !0VegJ9Jl.Q) > You know what? I ought to try that.
It might work out. If your high school can't stop you from attending college courses in any way, then don't bother asking their permission. Just do it and don't involve them.

It doesn't, but I will take it at the high school anyway because that means I will have to do less commuting. @previous (J)
I found out that I can do it, but they will refuse to pay for it because that is what the regulations state. And my parents say no because of that.

Your high school was to cover the cost of the college courses you wanted to take?

Also, in regards to cost, there is no way in hell I'm going to Wayne County community college. I'd have to go to Oakland Community College and pay a higher rate because I happen to be out-of-county.

If you're not having your parents scream at the school administration until you get what you want then you're wasting a valuabe resource. Think rich kids get what they want by asking nicely? No. Their parents yell the loudest.

It's not just two classes. I already explained that I was fine with taking math, english and science at the school. They want me to take all the classes. That is not going to happen.
And high school is completely irrelevant. No one cares if you have a degree or not because all that matters is having a degree or a trade. Yet, they insist on making me go.
