I do have a friend who has an ancester who was the first criminal (a serial killer in this case) to be caught with short-range radio (or something like that).

I have a great uncle who killed some prisoners or something whilst a solider in war, but he wasn't supposed to. So it's technically related to war, but not exactly the same. Women and children, too. He lined them up & shot them one after another. I'm not sure if he got into trouble.
He ended up killing himself many years later. I remember him as a very nasty man.
