I found out that the teacher of the class is a religious wacko, and I do not want to risk a good education in humanity because of her religious biases. What's the worst that could happen?

Evolution was the first week of class when I took Cultural Anthropology. My professor was awesome though and told us stories about his field study in the carribeans all the time. I think in Barbados, but I don't remember.

I’m giving the teacher the benefit of the doubt.
Religion and mythology are one and the same, but Religion is just an application of a myth to your everyday life, moral structures, and civic engagement. It’s a very fair question to ask of students, but certainly can be problematic.
I’ve had excellent courses taught by devout men of faith who were integral parts of their churches. They don’t always preach their beliefs, they’re capable of respecting the values/beliefs of others, and they can be excellent presenters because that preaching background is all about teaching.
Give it a shot, and try to respectfully steer the course in a way that helps everybody. Voice your concerns in private, first.

Scholarly analyses of the contents of the Bible can be a lot of fun. The goal doesn’t need to be exposing the *zomg contradictions!!!!111*, but trying to understand the (humanly) limitations of the original writers is cool.

Has she ever seen ancient Sumerian mythology? A lot of stuff there is obvious the bible copied from. There's a website somewhere I saw once with some 5000 other incidents of sources everywhere the bible ripped off of.
