Yeah, this. People try to copy Apple all the time. I'm not being a macfag right now, this is just a matter of like... why you shouldn't copy ideas from companies four times as big as yours.

Apple is defending ideas that they stole from others and claimed as their own and striking down competitors with lawsuits instead of innovation.
Samsung is not without fault and indeed copied, as shown in the 100-page document that showed exactly how they should copy that iPhone, but Apple should not get a full 10% of Samsung's yearly profit for vague shit they don't even deserve to have patents on.

Apple shouldn't have been allowed to patent these incredibly basic concepts to begin with.
Is the concept of competition dead?

To apple at least. I for one, have had it with Apple. I think it is time for anon to dust off the suits and masks and rise against this. Full on protests, petition local, state and federal government officials, hackers on steroids and all that shit.

This is no minor squabble. This is setting a legal precedent that Apple can then use to systematically attack any competition. That means no more android phones

Depends on details of "elements" If no code is copied but characters are almost exactly the same, could be a real problem. Parody is the clean easy way to get around patents and copyrights.

Agree and a multilayer display and one day when the phone has user eyes direct some events. People forget that Apple's GUI was taken for free from Zerox and later when MicroShit used the same Icons & Apple screamed mad at MS - MS said Apple invented nothing and a trash can is a trash can.
Inside sources say Samsung will on appeal do better on claims Apple ripped of Samsung on several tech patents. Most Apple can get around.
On the rectangle with rounded corners? How many cars look so much like another brand? I am going to wait for the appeal process.

well that and trying to hobble SAMSUNG before the release of the next generation of apple TV products.
You can't absorb 1.05 billion dollars without downsizing significantly.
it'll basically stall innovation out of SAMSUNG and let apple continue to use new emerging technology first.
