Please provide some scientific evidence for why it is, GOP.

many conservatives have been vocal that rape is not a big deal, and never causes pregnancies.

Extraordinary people have been born from rape. Ask Mike Huckabee.

Ha, I can actually imagine a Republican using this argument, given that they've also used that same logic against abortion.

they treat it like it's not a bad thing, and that rape and incest victims should carry unwanted children out of respect for the father, and because of the fact that the unborn child might end up being a male. thanks.

there have been documented cases of pregnancy resulting from rape. The GOP is okay with lying, in order to control women.

And why should women be subservient to men when they are not objects one can own, but human beings?

@343,166 (C)
yeah they seem to have trouble understanding that women are actual human beings and like being treated appropriately. scatchan is filled with the biggest socially retarded failures on the BBS scene so that isn't surprising to me at all.

So much confusion. This will become a non-issue as the age of viability decreases. When zygotes becomes viable, we're good. Pro-lifers should invest in research, not advocacy. Advocacy has failed for decades. Research continually lowers the age of viability.

Most people today would claim that rape is a terrible crime almost akin to murder, but I strongly disagree. Far from a vile act, rape is a magical experience that benefits society as a whole. I realize many of you will disagree with this thesis, but lend me your ears and I’m sure I’ll sway you towards a darkened alley.

If it weren’t for rape, Western Civilization might not exist as we know it today. When the Romans were faced with a disproportionate ratio of women to men in the early kingdom, they had to do something, lest their fledgling society die for lack of sons. To solve their little dilemma, they did what any reasonable man would do: they threw a festival for their Sabine neighbors, and then stole and raped their women. It’s quite logical; in fact I don’t understand why the settlers at Plymoth didn’t do the same to the local Indians–it certainly would have saved on shipping costs.

Obviously, in the case of the Rape of the Sabines, rape was a tremendous help to society. The Sabine women, for their part, didn’t seem to mind so much, as they threw themselves between their brutish old Sabine husbands and their charming new Roman ones to prevent bloodshed when the Sabine men came to reclaim their wives. Yet even when society was totally against a rape, the raunchy act has benefited society too. Where would the Romans be, after all, if it weren’t for the Rape of the Lucretia infuriating the people to the point of overthrowing their last king, Lucius Tarpuinius Superbus? If it weren’t for that event, the world might have never had the Roman Republic for a pristine example of a flawless government.

Rapes glorious advantages are not, however, exclusively found from 2,000 year old examples. In actuality rape advantages can very much be seen today. Take ugly women for example. If it weren’t for rape, how would they ever know the joys of intercourse with a man who isn’t drunk? In a society as plastic-conscious as our own, are we really to believe that some man would ever sleep with a girl resembling a wildebeest if he didn’t have a few schnapps in him? Of course he wouldn’t–at least no self-respecting man would–but there in lies the beauty of rape. No self respecting man would rape in the first place, so ugly women are guaranteed a romp with not only a sober man, but a bad boy too; and we all know how much ladies like the bad boy.

Ugly women are not, however, the only people who benefit from rape–prisoners enjoy as many perks too. What, after all, could be possibly be more boring than spending years of your life confined to some tiny cell 23 hours a day? The answer, of course, is spending years of your life confined to some tiny cell 23 hours a day and never getting some hot action. With rape, prisoners never have to worry about that. Instead, they merely need worry about treating their rapist with enough love and respect to earn a quick reach-around.

But if there is one bread and butter reason for why rape should not only be accepted, but even endorsed, it is because our news editors are in dire need of interesting stories for our front page. Bookstore stories? Fossils? One dollar coins? Please. Now, some saucy circle-jerk rape action? Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Evolution

In order for the human race to survive, a сertain level of testosterone must be transmitted to each new generation. This used to be reсognized as a faсtor by most women when choosing their mates, but in an era where computer yuppie millionaires and drugged out guitarists are just as appealing to women as athletes (and сertainly more appealing than stable, hard working "average" men), women increasingly are making bad mating сhoices, at least as far as evolution is conсerned. Rape has always been nature's safety-net for making sure that some strength and aggressiveness got pumped into the next generation, and now it is more important than ever.

Genetics

On a more individual level, it is important to note that EVERYONE has a rape somewhere in their family tree, if they go back far enough. And regardless of how far back you have to go to find it, this somber search of your roots should remind you of a simple, undisputable fact: If it wasn't for rape, you wouldn't be here. You have a Rapist to thank for your very existenсe!

Freedom

It is notable that here, in the United States, the birthplaсe of women's rights (and women's right to vote) that women seek equality EXCEPT when it сomes to fighting wars. It is as if it is reсognized, even among the most radiсal of feminists, that manhood is a requirement of combat. Ironic that those most likely to rape share the same aggressive traits required to defend our сountry (including its women) in war time.

Variety

There are many sex aсts that men like to do, but women find distasteful. Also, men tend to want sex earlier in a relationship than women do; and more frequently. Why should women's tastes be the final court of appeals on all suсh matters? Rape is a fair equalizer in matters suсh as this.
