They nerfed inferno mode and buffed all the drops, especially the legendaries. Also they added paragon levels which let's you earn experience and get stronger without actually going up past level 60. It feels fun again.

"fun again" for me would be adding new classes since I enjoyed playing through a few difficulty levels (60 barb, rest are between high 30s and low 50s) The story is poor and the acts are short, the gear grind is even more dull since once you do gear up... that's it, you're geared up. Quite a snooze fest I thought. The style of gear grind is even more poor than Diablo 2 as farming boss runs for a type of loot you were after seemed to be better but this killing pack after pack holding onto your nephalem buff is about as fun punching myself in the side of the head.
I'm quite sure the fun people are experiencing right now is simply first day patch fun. But having said all that, I'll try it again.

Oh well the core gameplay hasn't changed. You're still doing Butcher runs or farming elite packs or whatever. If you don't like that then diablo 3 isn't for you. I only play it like a couple hours a month so I haven't gotten bored of it yet.

I have TorchLight 2 on pre-order so I'm hoping for something new with that and Path of the Exile look interesting but that could decend into a pay-2-win game. I'm hoping Diablo 3 will be like Diablo 2 in that it'll vastly improve once the first expanction comes out and with any luch Jay Wilson will be on another project or unemployed

Also did you hear about the Jay Wilson drama? The original guy behind Diablo 1 & 2 was in some interview where he criticized D3 and Jay Wilson said "Fuck that loser" on facebook. I don't know if there's been an official response to that, but everyone hates him more than they did already now lol.

It seemed like such an overreaction, too. IIRC all the guy said is that he would have "done things differently".

So many sequels of games use different devs like Fallout3 but then once they returned to the original devs for New Vagas I saw a big differents (not that FO3 was bad or anything) I do wonder why they used a new dev for Diablo 3 over the guys who did one & 2.
