Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican nominee for Senate in Missouri who is running against Sen. Claire McCaskill, justified his opposition to abortion rights even in case of rape with a claim that victims of “legitimate rape†have unnamed biological defenses that prevent pregnancy.
“First of all, from what I understand from doctors [pregnancy from rape] is really rare,†Akin told KTVI-TV in an interview posted Sunday. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.â€
Akin now says he "misspoke."
It's a popular theory among various Republicans who've said, alternately, that the "juices don't flow" or that women unleash a special anti-pregnancy secretion when they're raped.

Fun fact: Pennsylvania's Stephen Freind eventually did cite medical evidence. Turns out, the Nazis did some experiments about how women ovulate when they are under extreme stress, such as being sent to fake death chambers.
God Bless America.

I really am worried by some of the things Republican politicians say. America's meant to be one of, if not the most advanced country in the world, yet one of its most important political parties has members who go around saying horrid things like this.

Yes, I think he could have been a little bit harsher in his criticism as well. Perhaps he could have thrown in an adjective like "gosh-darn".
Also I was going to disagree with your second point but I can't.

It's not even a good study to use anyway. 36% of the "participants" still ovulated. This means that, assuming that this percentage is consistent to all female rape victims (which is questionable at best), that about a third would still become pregnant after being raped.
His logic of "rape pregnancies don't exist" still doesn't hold up, even with his Nazi science.

No, I'm saying that 1) you're a retard and 2) you didn't even read anything linked to here.
The Nazi experiments didn't have anything at all to say about rape and pregnancy, just what effects on ovulation result when you put malnourished prisoners through a mock death.

Of course the origin matters. You don't think there was a wee little problem with the ethics and scientific approach the Nazis used? Christ, are you Walter?

I am sure that the Nazis' methodology was flawed, yes. But in general, if a theory is true or false does not hinge on the morals of its developers.

Studies, to be valid, must be verifiable. Studies, to be verifiable, must be repeatable. Studies, to be repeatable, must have all of the information and avoid violating human rights. Studies, to not violate human rights, must be of sound ethical grounds.
Therefore, using logic, studies that are not ethical are not valid.

Again, I agree. But, in general (please read, "in general"), does the moral of people who do a study, automatically disqualify that study?

Yes, because it cannot be repeated and therefore it is not science.

Hmm, but what about super aggressive rape sperm? See, now this is a fact i feel in my gut, but if a guy is super hoped up on rape-tosterone then his sperm become super aggressive and have higher odds of impregnating an egg. So the eggs DO get fertilized, but the woman's anti-rape hormones keep it from settling in.
Unless of course it's not rape, then she get's pregnant. But you know how emotional women can be, making wild claims and accusations just to get attention. (or stay out of trouble)

Jesus fuck you retard, when have you ever heard a court declare someone "innocent"? He pleaded to a lesser charge anyway. Do you understand the legal system at all, or are you just that hard up to find another female to call a bitch that any old thing will do?
Please name the "several courts" that say he did not rape her. Do you believe that the matter of the rape was addressed in this lawsuit? We may be talking about different cases, if so, because he already fucking pleaded guilty to assault. And this is a civil trial between the victim and her school.
Honestly, you're one of the biggest idiots here. Listen, I'm really sorry that you're not getting hours of anal these days, but you shouldn't let that cloud your judgment so much.
