Topic: The REAL reason why the government is pushing us to attend expensive universities.

Anonymous A started this discussion 14 years ago #21,540

The reason is that because our colleges are so expensive, you'll have to take out a student loan to pay for it. But first, in order to get that loan, you'll have to sign up for selective service (if you're a male, that is). It's a fucking ploy to make us sign up and risk fighting some unnecessary war if you are called by the impending draft lottery.

You are required to sign up for the selective service anyway within 30 days of your 18th birthday.

Don't worry Walter, your obesity will get you a deferment.

I'll wait for them to give me the letter in the mail demanding me to sign up. And then I'll sign up as a conscientious objector.

Yeah, this is true. Before I turned 18 I moved from california to oklahoma, then the month after I turned 18 I moved to texas. 4 months later I got a card in the mail. They found Me :(

Did they prosecute you for being three months late? If not, then it isn't required.

If I ever get drafted, then I had better get to join the Coast Guard. Fuck the Middle-East. They aren't a threat to us, unlike Mexico, which has several paramilitary drug cartels that could probably fuck us over if they decide to overthrow Mexico's pathetic government.

They'd get through texas, new mexico, arizona, and part of southern california. The states as a whole would be fine.

You think the cartels have a chance against Arizona?

I'm guessing by proximity to the boarder, I have no other basis for my assumptions.

Wait, why would arizona put up more of a fight than texas? This used to be its own country, and literally 3/5 people here own a gun. Its moronic.

Sorry, I just noticed Arizona listed there. They are some of the most nationalistic motherfuckers I have ever met, and I've met some hardcore UAW folks (they're nationalistic in the way that if they see someone who drives a non-American car to work, they will harass them on a daily basis).

Arizona's population is but a pittance of Texas.
