It looks like the map in the OP is the self-reported obesity data from [www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/adult.html/ the CDC]. Haha, now that you say it the way the US does it does look really inefficient. I mean, some stores over there have guys who drive around in little go-kart things to tidy up the trolleys.
Mind you, in Shaun of the Dead, which is set in England, there's a guy pushing trolleys (carts) around, so maybe it varies from shop to shop.
