Usually played 5 v 5 (3v3 also) Player play on a small map with 3 rows (Top, mid, bot) and try to reach the enemy players base (located on the bottom right or the top left depending on which side you're on) and destroy it.

This. Often the key to victory is gold, when you die you give the enemy gold and when you kill you receive gold. The importance of gold in LoL is often overlooked. Get gold at every opportunity and try to deprive the enemies of gold.

I'm sorry, you'd need a Phd. in Theoretical Video-Meta-Gaming before you'd understand it.

This only applies to ranked games. Ignore the jew.

It's a complicated game, but it's nothing you can't handle. Learning your champs role and your enemies' abilities is crucial. Tanks for example are quite boring to play for the most part (Garen, Alistar, Maokia etc). But assassins such as Leblanc or Talon can kill early and kill a lot, a good fighter like Xin can really kick ass too. In LoL, not all champs are created equal. Pro Akalis can get 30+ kills a match on the regular. Stick with it.

My problem here is that I still don't understand the game on a theoretical level. Can someone please assist. Thanks.

Give it time, you'll figure it out. You'll most likely be one of the pros once you do.
