Yes, it was a huge conspiracy. See, the real French died out in the 18th century. The Illuminati saw their chance, and flooded the now empty France with agents who pretended to be French and seamlessly took over the country.

And they're still doing it to this very fucking day.

The Illuminati is after every country. France was simply the first to present a pathway to strategic success. US was in the Illuminati before, but voluntarily. It was simply a tool for the US government to win dominance over the British crown.
