It'd be nice if they made an RPG that was like a puzzle, and choosing a wrong path could lead to a logical intractible failure. Many paths may win the game, but many more will lose it. That kinda thing.

Tired of the hand holding. If i can't not make stupid game losing choices then why am i playing? I could just watch a movie...

That's it. It's an interactive movie and if hamburger helper had her way you could skip the combat and jump right into the homorotica

play the witcher 2, it has a great choice system and it is not just black and white. every path does lead to the end of the game though since starting over a 90hr rpg again and again would probably be frustrating
disclaimer: i dont know how long tw2 actually is

Though I have to say, I found a few small parts of ME3 disturbing. Shepard did far too much talking on his/her own and neutral responces were removed.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but Bioware of all people shouldn't be streamlining the RPG elements like that.

well, technically you could make a 12 hour RPG with so many paths to chose, lose and ways to die that it takes you 90 hours to finish it like a normal game. think of it like a rubics cube, sure once you master it you can do one in under a minute, but before you can master it you gotta play with it for hours and hours to figure it all out. and with so many ways to play, and change the game and see new content people will see restarting as part of the fun.

but games like skyrim, shit, you put 45 hours into it and you don't want to start over because you accidentally killed an NPC that leads to end game content or get locked in a dungeon pit-fall and can't get out. or shoot the mayor's daughter and forever be pursued as an outlaw, thusly, ruining the game.
