I am all alone within myself now, I don't have any friends, or connections, or love. People don't matter to me anymore, I only care about myself, about money, and about power, and control.
I tried to love, I really did, I tried to pull myself out there, I tried to make someone else happy, just to make them happy. But that's over now, I'm done with that. That just didn't work for me.

OP, you're not being honest with yourself. The people who you thought were your friends, who you loved were not real friends or real lovers.
I remember a post on the Doctor Robert forum. One person said the best to win someone's heart is to date multiple others and casually let it slip to your crush, all the while wooing your crush's interest. I have no doubt this would work, but is all this bullshit and deception good? And I don't mean lovers necessarily, but friends in general.
Stop falling for fucking charisma. Look for people with wisdom. And true wisdom isn't some serene bullshit the media portrays. Real wisdom pisses everyone off because they don't like the truth. True wisdom goes over most people's heads who call wise people stupid, then again acting stupid is often smart and smart people hide it while dumb people act smart.
Stop going for charming friends. Find friends who respect you enough to be candid with no matter how much it pisses you off. I'm sure you pushed people like this way because you were entranced with charismatic friends.

Whenever I feel that way, I remember my family loves me. If anyone puts me in their will, it means they love me and I matter to them. I have friends of the family who put me in their will because we're close like family.
Do you know the difference between unconditional and conditional love?
