I'm really worried about a friend of mine. She's 14 years old and meeting up with a man around 40ish that she met online. She's sexually active with him, and they met up just today for the second time. There is no abuse involved at all, which is good. As soon as she mentions any form of abuse I'm going to call the cops.
Earlier today she needed an excuse to get out of the house for the night to meet up with him. So she asked me to meet up with her at a shopping center, where her mum will drop her off and see me (This will reassure her mum shes with me) and from there the guy will come and pick her up and i'll go home.
I was thinking of the possible situations, and thought i'd go just to write down the number plate of the car. So that way if she is abused i have the number plate. Where as if I didn't help her meet up with him she would have snuck out later on anyway and I wouldn't have a number plate at all.
Problem was she wanted me to go home before he came, and so while i was spying on her trying to find the guy i lost track of her. Ughh. I feel like crap, think I made things worse.
At least on the positive side I've now created evidence of her meeting up with him as there are security cameras at the shopping center, and I've listed down the date, time etc. So I didn't completely stuff things up.
Anyway I was just wondering what I should do? Should I tell someone or just wait and see if things get abusive? The thing is if I tell someone the police will do a complete search of all her conversations, the guy will go to jail, shell be kicked out of home, she wont come to school ever again, shell probably break down and end up in a home. I'll never be able to look at her again, and the police would want to read our entire conversation history right? This means my parents would find out i lied, got involved, they'd here about some of the other private stuff i got up to.
What do I do?! :/
Also can some of you please tell me if I did the right thing by meeting up with her at the shopping center? Was that a good or bad decision?
