Topic: YouTube is the most unorganized and ugliest Google site right now.

Its color scheme is inconsistent, there are several different video players on the site (some use completely different code, and may force one to use HTML5 video even if one isn't signed up to that beta), the changes they make are absolutely unappealing, and it just sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the other Google sites. The best thing that Google could do is to eliminate the unnecessary code, show us the rating of the video so we don't have to click on it to see if it's a dud, stop making big changes that render the site unusable and try to make it look more like a Google site. I know Google is capable of making a beautiful site, as I have seen their Google Play site and their Chrome Web Store, so why should their second most popular service get such an ugly UI? It doesn't make any sense.

Post-2008 youtube just sucks donkey dick. Just major donkey dick. I can't tell you how many pointless fucking revisions it's been through over the years. It used to be about user content, now it's just about useless horseshit force fed to you by youtube themselves. It's all corrupted and corporate now... I still use youtube, but I'm constantly reminded why they aren't nearly as good as they used to be. I love google, but it seems like the brains behind the good stuff they do has nothing to do with the bad stuff they do to youtube. It's a fucking shame.

Join the HTML5 trial and then leave; that fixed it for me, at least.

They did this by placing "n% like this" under videos on the results page. It was there for like a week but then they removed it.

Ya know Opera has pushed this and it will be the future for HTML as the standard until 6 comes along one day. It does Rock re scalable vector graphics. Will really speed up what you can see in future. Ain't done as a standard but ya know it will be. Besides the faster graphics the key reason its going to be approved is its targeted for Cell phones and tablets for maximize battery use. Steve Jobs was in major push just before his death. Flash out HTML 5 in.

I know, man. Google Video was fucking awesome too. What happened? Why does Google treat YouTube like total garbage? It's like they're trying to give Digg a run for its money with their constant, stupid, needless revisions that only fulfill what the shareholders want. Also, the way the video just autoplays instead of just having to be clicked on to start is total bullshit. @336,742 (C)

Though it is owned by Google, I would hesitate to lump YouTube in with the "real" Google sites like Gmail, Google Books, Google Calender, etc. It would be like saying Skype is the best Microsoft product.
You wouldn't Microsoft a tree, would you?

Can't be worse than what they did to Myspace post-2006

You tube sucks because of the shift in community. Yes Google is fucking it over. But really they have no choice. The community has become a fucking embarrassment. Big G is in the business of protecting YouTube users from themselves now.

That may be so, but it doesn't excuse their horrible practice of writing code on a live site instead of doing it safely on a copy.
