Topic: Is it really possible to have nostalgia for an era you didn't live through?

Because I think all of the exposure to eighties media made me have an extreme nostalgia for the decade and I was born at the very start of the nineteen nineties.

Just do not have nostalgia for era where what you are is not acceptable. (Even you are not sure what you are)

You mean like nostalgia for the nineteen fifties?

It's a memory from a past life. Usually, longing for a past life generally means you died an untimely death or with lots of unfinished business.

I wouldn't be acceptable in the nineteen eighties?
@336,347 (D)
lol I guess my passed life either died young or was an elderly man in the eighties.

You're not clear on what you are. How do you know you are considered acceptable in current decade?

Wouldn't the current decade be easier to determine than the past ones because it appears to be more liberal?

Sure wait long enough and what you are may be? Its always a crap shoot because prejudice is inherent in human nature.

I'm bit confused about what we're actually discussing right now. I assume you're referring to my sexuality/identity?

Not necessarily. You IDENTITY minus sexuality, is not really clear.

Okay, I guess that makes sense, I try not to post too much about myself on these forums.
But those I often speak to one on one either on Steam or on Skype or even Minichan IRC think I'm nice.

This.
OP was probably a teenage girl that died in a coke-addled panic at a Miller's Outpost in 1988 while trying to make leg-warmers "work" with parachute pants. Memories of hating men because they could just throw on some ripped jeans and a sport jacket and still look trendy have echoed through the decades to create the current state of mental confusion we see today.
This explains so much.

Well, I always feel afraid I might come off as an asshole and perhaps some things in my past might render me a lolcow.

it's still nostalgia
just for your childhood, not the decade
retard
otherwise it's just 'golden age thinking' and that makes you gay

Past is past. Move into the light of the future and put past behind your behind.
