It kinda annoys me when someone gets "depressed" for the simple fact he doesn't get any. Sure, it's important as hell, but if you have friends and hobbies and something to do in the future, you're not depressed, just another moron without a girlfriend, there are many others more.

It's part of the social cycle, you know, to get a partner, or eventually a woman to marry and have kids with. You can argue that it doesn't matter, but then again nothing else matters, such as having friends, hobbies, a job and so on. That will not explain why we are depressed though.
But the relationship bit doesn't matter as much, if you've got it covered in everything else. In fact, it should get resolved by itself. But you'll never see the same amount of "helping" books on how to get new buddies or a good job, it's always about the girls

I don't think anyone is depressed becuse they aren't getting any. It may be what they go on about, but I'm guessing there is a lot more to it than that if they are depressed.

I don't think it is. Depression is pretty common. It has degrees though. Sure, not everyone is depressed as me, but I'm an extreme. There is still a stigma with depression. Depression is diagnosed correctly more often than it was in the past.
People assume more means it is too much. People are stupid and incapable of actual empathy.
I'm sure you've gotten suggestions on how to not be depressed from people, right? Ridiculously retarded advice that has no practical value.

Eh, I'm not depressed. I just don't really care about my friends or family. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing them and that, but I'd probably get over it if I never spoke to any of them ever again.
