my macbook has served me well for over four years now, but I will be upgrading to a gently used iMac "Core i3" 3.06 GHz 21.5-Inch (Mid-2010) on friday if everything works out alright. It is $750. I did a lot of research and that's the best value at the moment for my purposes.

You can get a human suit for a lot less. Like under $200 at one of the warehouse places.
Plus you'll look a lot more professional. Unless you're trying to WOW them at an interview i'd avoid fursuits.
